The Interoperability Department is a basic unit of Rakovski Defence and Staff College with the aims of conducting training for enhancing the qualification of Bulgarian and foreign military officers as well as civilians in interoperability issues combined with specialized language training in English and French.

The Department does research work and training in the field of interoperability with NATO, the coalition forces and the UN missions, the techniques of the development process of the national documents dealing with the military aspects of security and defence; conducts analyzes and lessons learned dissemination and training in specialized staff and language courses, staff exercises and training.
