Mission
Training aims at providing officers with a masterÕs degree and preparing them for working in operational and tactical structures of the Bulgarian Army. Future commanders are trained to make decisions in peace and at war and are encouraged to develop as professionals and leaders.
Officer education focuses on their development as all-army structures commanders who possess the knowledge, leadership and management skills required for the Bulgarian Army NATO integration. Student training aims at effective participation in combat operations and operations other than war, conducted by NATO-led multinational military structures.
Main goals:
Acquisition of the knowledge necessary for the officersÕ professional development as commanders, adapting their concepts of the role of the armed forces in the process of establishing and developing civil-military relations, as well as the military aspect in asserting national interests.
Development of operational thinking, the ability to adapt quickly to the changing environment, and independent decision making skills.
Acquisition and development of military leadership skills to be successfully applied in the Bulgarian Army structures.
Acquisition of systematic knowledge of the psychological aspects of combat.
Main objectives:
To introduce students to the theory of operational art, tactics, practice in combat operations concerning national and collective defence of the countryÕs territory, as well as collective defence outside the countryÕs territory;
To introduce students to the theory of operational art, tactics and combat practice in operations other than war in accordance with the current state of affairs and contemporary challenges;
To study the technology of organizing, preparing and managing warfare by the tactical and operational structures of the Land Forces;
To develop practical skills for team work and decision making in different circumstances;
To introduce students to the fundamental structure of the system for the protection of the population in cases of natural disasters, emergencies and accidents as well as the procedures for organizing and conducting rescue work and urgent repairs.
To study the organization of staff techniques, tactics and procedures at staffs of different rank in forming multinational joint task forces;
To participate in international operations in response to crises in order to guarantee peace and security, to fortify, protect and defend strategic targets;
To stimulate and develop leadership skills and the ability to analyze scientific and practical questions in the fields of command, psychological operations of the enemy and combat stress control;
To expand and solidify the fundamental training concerning the origin and development of psychological processes in operations and combat;
To foster a debating creative working environment and providing conditions for exchanging experience at international meetings, conferences and exercises and encouraging a modern way of communication. |
