The Engineer centre was established in 2006, as a continuation of the process of implementation of the ideas and approaches of the international exercise in the spirit of partnership for peace RESCUER / MEDCEUR (2003-2005) . The main goal is to train teams comprised mainly by engineers to work in realistic staff environment in response to non military crisis. The training encompasses development of skills in the field of management and decision making; employment of NATO approved staff procedures and exploitation of the new information technologies.
E ndowment of computer s and additional equipment by TEA Ltd. located in Sofia city and re present ed by its manager Mr. Svejin Gurov created a solid foundation for the establishment of the centre. |

- Specialized courses for skills improvement based on operations other than war scenarios;
- Specialized courses for skills improvement based on standard military operations;
- Computer Assisted Exercises in cooperation with National Training Centre “Charalitsa”.

- Informal Centre for Engineer Lessons Learned - c ollect s and analyses reports and lessons learned in behalf of the engineer community of Bulgarian Armed Forces ;
- Maintenance of communications network capability, and its exploitation in behalf of deployed units/formations HQs ;
- Maintenance, exploitation and constant development of the proprietary Events Management System in support of center’s goals.

Based upon written order of the Commandant of Rakovski Defense and Staff College (RDSC) dated 12 May 2006 and the will of the donator of the equipment the Engineer Centre has been founded shortly after with the following status: The centre is functional subunit of Combat Support Chair, Command and Staff Faculty, RDSC and is co-located with the CPX and CAX centre of Interoperability Department, RDSC.
