Mission

Chair Combat Support develops cadre in the military field according to the Command and Staff Faculty’s curriculum to let them successfully occupy positions at national, allied and joint levels. Master degree program is scheduled for three terms and the other training is between one or two weeks. The training is held in the auditoriums of Command and Staff Faculty and in the chair’s proprietarily deployed on functional basis Engineer Centre for Remote Management of Deployed Headquarters.

Main Goals:

Learners should adopt the necessary knowledge to become specialists, to adapt their outlook for the role and place of the forces in the process of building up and evolution of civil - military relations and the role of the military factor in defending of national interests;

To study regularities, character, content and principles of organization and carry out engineer support and NBC events in preparation and conducting combat engagements by operational and tactical formations from the Bulgarian armed forces as well as in operations other than war;

To change learners way of thinking in order to form proper command and leaderships values needed for their work in the structure of multinational combined operational forces during crises management ;

To develop an ability for operational thinking, quick adaptation to changing situation and skills to take their own decisions.

General tasks:

Learners should be acquainted with theory and practice of conducting combat engagements by operational and tactical formations of the Bulgarian armed forces in accordance with current realities and challenges;

To give them fundamental knowledge and form them as engineer support and NBC specialists in operational and tactical formations;

To form practical habits and skills to work in a team in organizing and conducting of engineer support and NBC events, via contemporary methods and technologies in accordance with NATO orientation of the country;

To form debatable and creative atmosphere for work and conditions of exchanging experience from participation in PSO, international meetings, conferences and exercises.
