On 14 th July, 2008 Chinese delegation, leaded by Major General Chen Zhaohal visited Rakovski Defense and Staff College. The Commandant of Rakovski Defense and Staff College Major General Georgi Georgiev welcomed the guests. Bulgarian officers presented a briefing in issues concerning the mission, the tasks, the perspectives and requirements for the education of officers and civilian the field of security and defense, as well as the academic curriculum at Rakovski Defense and Staff College.

The workshop focused on the new trends in the training in the Bulgarian military institution and enhanced the development of the specialized higher military knowledge. Current opportunities for extending the cooperation in the field of military education were discussed. The delegation visited National Security and Defense Faculty, Command and Staff Faculty, Peacekeeping Operations Center and Royal Halls.

On 7 th September, 2006 during the visit of Colonel General Tsiao Ganchuan – Deputy President of the Central State Commission and a member of the State Committee of China, minister of defense at Rakovski Defense and Staff College was proposed the elaboration of Chinese-Bulgarian educational program “Development of Military Art as a Response to Threats to Peace”. As perspective forms of the current bilateral cooperation were determined the opportunities for education of Bulgarian military in China and for Chinese military to be trained in our country, the exchange of lecturers and expert delegations.
